We are just 4 days away from our 6th Moonbeams Wold Top Folk Festival and the 2015 edition promises to be a cracker! With that in mind we thought it was about high time that we gave you an idea of what to expect over the weekend.
Here’s a guide to who’s playing where and when….
Look out on both stages for our old friend Ron Davies who’s back again this year to tease and cajole with his witty poetry and storey telling.
On both Friday night our ever popular Big Sky Session Tent will be hosting open mic style sessions from the close of the main stages until the wee hours. With new hosts this year on Friday your host is Andy Atkinson with Ben Sutton taking over MC duties on Saturday night. All are welcome to get up and play, sing and entertain so feel free to join in. We may even have a few surprises for you over the weekend!
On Saturday morning our traditional hangover-beating guided walk is back. Lead, as ever, by the wonderful Martin Hill the walk takes in both the Centenary Way and the Wolds Way capping at 500m above sea level for those long distance views we all love! Bring appropriate footwear if you want to join in.
Come and join us for an hour of calming yoga at Moonbeams festival in the beautiful gardens of Hunmanby Grange. Led by British Wheel of Yoga qualified Bec Thompson from Core Yoga, the free session is suitable for all ages and abilities and will prepare you for the festivities ahead! Join us in the garden at 10.15am on Saturday with your yoga mats. There are a limited number of places, so it’s first come, first served and subject to a promising weather forecast!
On Saturday morning we also have a songwriting workshop with our beloved Anna Shannon. Bring along your instruments to learns some of the tricks of ther trades from one of East Yorkshires finest singer/songwriters!
We love him every bit as much as the kids – that’s right, the irrepressible Captain Kipper is back to entertain children and adults alike! You’ll find him in and around the Big Sky marquee throughout the weekend – specific times will be on the blackboards dotted around the festival site. Beware though, no one can escape the Moaning Lisa…..!!
Food & Drink
We have more choice for food and drink than ever before this year. You can expect the usual array of festival favourites including for the first time at Moonbeams: pizzas, crepes and a coffee van! Delicious just isn’t a word enough!
Of course we will have gallon upon gallon of our wonderful Wold Top ales available throughout the weekend with soft drinks available too.
