I am so very very lucky to be involved with so many lovely festivals.. and over the last few years I have met so many great friends and have an ever growing festival family!

First one of the year.. Shepley Spring Festival.. such a fabulous festival.. full of songs, dance, ales, stalls, happy children, sessions and all happening on the village cricket pitch.. It’s great to get to Shepley and know festival season has arrived! It’s always great fun stage managing there… Nikki (Festival Director) has the same great love of Scottish Music as me.. so the line up is always a winner.. . and totally varied one too! Being stage manager, it’s always a joy to work with the ‘Vickers Team’ (AVLS).. but leaving the beer tent Monday morning isn’t!

Next stop! Beverley! I have been going to Beverley since I was a tot! It’s a good un! With a never ending  line up.. and I really don’t know how they pack it into 3 days! Beverley is the home of the Moonbeams Sessions… what great fun we have! Over Saturday & Sunday, Moonbeams delivers 13 hours of Yorkshire’s Finest.. all this taking place in the Wold Top Tent.. (as if you would find me anywhere else!?) Then when it chimes 11pm, that’s when the fun really begins… Festival Club time.. hosted by moi! (.. and don’t those people trying to sleep in their tents know it!) We have had some amazing times, with Club guests including.. Eddi Reader, Peatbog faeries, Billy Bragg, ahab, Shooglenifty and many more besides..  I can’t thank Chris enough, as Beverley’s 30th Birthday line up  has all my favourites, a very nice 40th Birthday pressie for me too! Cheers!

I went along to help at Burton Agnes Jazz Festival a couple of years ago.. a what a relaxing, chilled out time I had.. even being back stage was a dreamy lovely place.. with the views of the beautiful hall and gardens.. and the audience digging into their 5 course pack ups!  Can’t wait to go back this year!

I had my first Tribfest experience last year… Wow! 3 days of continuous big bands on and off the stage.. including.. Stone Roses, Queen, Muse, Michael Jackson, Cure and the list goes on.. (all tribute bands y’know).. but as the guys from NME said “all bloody brilliant”!  I had a great weekend,  working with Ed and his fab team! All taking place in the grounds of Sledmere House..

Highlight – The Cure, who had driven especially all the way from Turin, finished their set under time.. so I big them up an encore, with the audience screaming for more (I thought they would be delighted).. and they just left the stage.. Awkward! Great Festival!

August Bank Holiday Weekend is to me….  Galtres Weekend!! .. newly named Galtres Parklands Festival, as it has now moved across the fields to Duncombe Park.. another lovely festival in the most beautiful surroundings.  Galtres is jam-packed with fun, bursting at the seams with ales and ciders.. and even a fine wine stand (that I highly approved of!) It’s all happening at Galtres.. a smaller version of Glastonbury and up North! I’m happy to say that this year Moonbeams will be presenting the festival FRACAS..  a treat for all lovers of Folk, Roots, Acoustic, Country and Skiffle music… very excited indeedy!

Then it’s on to Otley.. where I spend the weekend introducing lot’s of my favourite artists and friends onto the many stages spread across Otley town.. Love the Kork’s Venue.. a fab wine bar,  where we  always end the weekend in style with a good steak and a bottle of wine..

Do check these Festivals out.. that’s just a few to go at.. I forgot to mention.. Musicport, The Great British Folk Weekend, Cornucopia, Whitby….. and CROPREDY (that’s another blog altogether)!!!
